Abstract

Under the teaching background of improving students' English core literacy as the main teaching goal, the role of poetry teaching in improving students' English ability should not be underestimated. Through the specific teaching design, guided by the concept of English activities and relying on the text "The Road Not Taken", this paper thinks about the teaching mode of English poetry, and explores how to make rational use of poetry genres that meet students' learning situation in the future teaching process, so as to guide students to know and appreciate English and American poetry.
