Design of ARP Attack Defense System Based on SDN Architecture in Industrial Internet

Abstract

In recent years, with the systematic development of the industrial Internet, Software Defined Network (SDN) has been introduced as an innovative network architecture to deal with its huge data system and improve network attack defense capabilities. However, in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) environment, SDN still faces security threats from ARP attacks. To address this issue, this study proposes an ARP attack defense mechanism based on address location information binding. This mechanism verifies ARP packets by building and maintaining an accurate IP and MAC address correspondence table to identify and intercept forged ARP requests, ensuring the normal operation of the network. The experimental results show that the system effectively prevents ARP flooding and spoofing attacks, reduces ARP broadcast traffic in the network, and shortens ARP processing time, thereby improving the communication efficiency of the network.
